How to follow a route on Shareyourroute.com
The best way to follow a route is via a map rather than directions and that’s how shareyourroute.com works. There are no complicated instructions that maybe out of date or misleading.
Go to a starting Map
Choose one of the green walking men so double click and it will link to a specific walk.
Find a walk Double-click on the blue link lettering
The marker represents the start of a walk. When you double click on the marker it will open up and show you a thumbnail picture. Now click on the blue lettering and this will take you to the walk.
Scroll down to the map and click on full screen mode
If you get a Geolocation Error
On an iPhone go to >Settings>Privacy>Location Services select the appropriate web browser and change from Never.
On an Android Swipe down from the top of the screen. Touch and hold Location . If you don’t find Location : Tap Edit or Settings . Then drag Location into your Quick Settings. Tap App permission. Under ”Allowed all the time,” “Allowed only while in use,” and “Ask every time,” find the apps that can use your phone’s location.

Most of the walks on the web site have commentary and photos to help tell the story of the route.
Follow a route from another web site
Many walking web sites like Fancy Free Walks and Visorando have downloadable GPX route files. These files contain all the location details of the route and can be imported into shareyourroute.com. If you want to follow one of these routes send it a day in advance of the walk. All we ask is you register on the site first.
We hope you can enjoy some of the lovely walks that others have shared.
